Calling on UH sports boosters

Under Mary Anne Lowery's management, the Hawaiian Wireless retail store at the Davies Pacific Center in downtown Honolulu is about to take a turn to help the University of Hawaii athletic programs.

"We will support the UH scholarship fund for athletic programs with one-third of the ($15) activation fee, starting in September," Lowery said.

She joined the company in January as a sales administrator.

Lowery previously was a marketing assistant at O/E Mid-Atlantic, a computer resale company, in Maryland.

Lowery, born in Thailand, earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and finance from the College of Notre Dame in Maryland.

Hawaiian Wireless was formed in March 1996 by Atlantic Cellular, based in Providence, R.I. It activated its Honolulu network in February.
