"We're in the process of creating a business plan to move us into the next century," DeMello said. "That includes property improvements and evaluating the way we do business. It's a top-to-bottom look."
He has 12 years in the hospitality industry, most recently as general manager at the Aston Park Shore hotel. DeMello also managed the Embassy Vacation Resort Poipu Point on Kauai and opened the Executive Centre Hotel in downtown Honolulu. He also worked at Hyatt hotels in Poipu, Waikoloa and Waikiki.
As the lead singer with the Kasuals he toured and recorded for four years. He now solos at Central Union Church.
DeMello graduated from Iolani School and earned a bachelor's degree in Russian literature from Northwestern University.
