Going Tahitian for Outrigger

Wayne Sterling is assisting with the planning and preopening for Outrigger Hotels & Resorts' new hotels in French Polynesia and the Cook Islands. Completion of the first two hotels in Tahiti is expected in the first quarter of 1999, and Outrigger will be the operator.

"We just broke ground on the new Hotel Tahiti near the airport and we'll have another hotel on Bora Bora," Sterling said.

He is a 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry who has experience at the Rainmaker Hotel in American Samoa and Hotel Taharaa in Papeete, Tahiti.

Sterling most recently was hotel manager with Aston Hotels & Resorts at the Coral Reef and Pacific Monarch hotels. He also has worked for hotels on Molokai, Kauai and the Big Island.

He was born in Hawaii and earned a bachelor's degree in hotel management from the University of Hawaii.
