Moore makes pitch
for maritime center

Robert L. Moore will be marketing the Hawaii Maritime Center to local residents.

"My goals are to get local people more involved as guests and givers (of their time and money), making them feel they are part of the museum," Moore said.

For the past year, Moore was executive director for the nonprofit Waikoloa Marine Life Fund.

Moore also was general manager of Sea Life Park for 12 years and a consultant for the Sea Life Park and Waimea Valley attractions. He is a director of the Outrigger Canoe Club and a former director of the Aloha Festivals, Windward YMCA and Pacific Area Travel Association-Hawaii chapter. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii.

The nonprofit Hawaii Maritime Center, built in 1988 at Honolulu harbor, became a subsidiary of the Bishop Museum in 1994.
