Redoing the
Outrigger Prince Kuhio

Dean Nakasone is making renovation plans to upgrade the 625-room Outrigger Prince Kuhio Hotel.

"We'll be renovating the entire hotel, from top to bottom, including the guest rooms, banquet facilities and restaurants," Nakasone said. "We hope to undertake the work in '98."

The last renovations were seven years ago, he added. The Prince Kuhio Hotel is the only Outrigger hotel with complete banquet and meeting facilities, he said.

Nakasone has 15 years experience in the hospitality industry, most recently as director of administration for the Halekulani Hotel. He also has worked in food and beverage, and management positions for Sheraton Hotels, as director of sales for the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki and as hotel manager for the Waikiki Parc Hotel. He earned a bachelor's degree in hotel management from the University of Hawaii.
