Inocencio D. Cacho, 84, of Waipahu died last Tuesday in St. Francis-West Hospital. Georgiana L.J. Chu, 50, of Honolulu, a teacher at Fern School, died Friday in Queen’s Hospital. Kenneth Ross Cuttino,31, of Flori da, a former Marine, North Shore surfer and photographer’s model, died April 18 of leukemia. Born in France, he is survived by parents Peter and Stephanie; sisters Julenne E. Myers, Jennifer Gauss and Kelly A. Rodier; and grandmothers Natalie Sheppard Timonium and Emma Cuttino. His ashes were scattered near Sunset Beach.

Yoshinobu “Ernest” Fujimoto, 100, of Hilo, a retired dairy worker at Naalehu Dairy, died Saturday in Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Naalehu, Hawaii, he is survived by sons Jimmy, Zenji, Frank and Larry; daughters Hazel Wehrsig, Amy Matsuzawa and Miharu Yamano; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Karen M. Jordal, 33, of Hilo, a nurse, died July 21 in Hilo Hospital. Samuel Kapoi, 82, of Waianae died Friday in Kapiolani Hospital at Pali Momi. Born in Waihee, Maui, he is survived by sons Jerome, Ted, Robert and David Kapoi and Charles Davis; daughters Evonne Waiwaiole, Philis Newberry, Patricia Lum, Marie Navales, Pamela Young, Dale Davis and Sandee Souza; 68 grandchildren; and 81 great-grandchildren. Elaine P. “Aunty Elaine” Mullaney, died Friday. She was a charter member of Queen Emma Hawaiian Civic Club, former president of the Oahu Council of Hawaiian Civic Clubs, recipient of the Pulama Award from Queen Liliuokalani Keiki Hula Competition and recipient of Outstanding Kamehameha Schools Alumni. Born on Maui, she is survived by daughters Leonie Randall, Edwina Smythe, Hauoli Mullaney and Noelani Kaiu; sons Buddy and Ronald; brother Frank Sylva; sisters Harriet Farden and Nani Ariola; 21 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Benjamin S. Notkin, 74, of Kailua, a consulting engineer, died Sunday at home. He was president of Benjamin S. Notkin, Hawaii Ltd. and past president of the American Society of Heating and Ventilating and Refrigeration Engineering, the Consulting Engineers Council of Hawaii, and the Bluestone Condominium Owners and national director of the American Consulting Engineers Council. He also served as a U.S. Naval officer during World War II. Born in Seattle, he is survived by wife Vasha; daughters Catherine N. Hayashi and Marillyn Largy; son the Rev. James B.; five grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren. Memorial services: 3 p.m. Thursday at Windward United Church of Christ, Kailua. Celebration to follow at Mid-Pacific Country Club. Oscar R. Oroku, 74, of Wahiawa, a retiree of Schofield Barracks, died Friday in Wahiawa General Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he is survived by wife Mitzie M.; son Rodney; daughter Karen Kutaka; brother Yoshio; sister Gladys Kim; and four grandchildren. George A. Schaffer, 83, of Kailua, an architect, died last Tuesday at home. He worked for the World Bank and designed schools throughout the world. In Hawaii, he worked on Waikiki’s Foster Towers and Aiea High School. Born in New York, he is survived by wife Eva A.; sons Alexander “Sandy” and Charles; daughters Katharine Heimuli-Schaffer and Elizabeth “Betsy” Alvarado; and five grandchildren.
