Good luck wishes
enfolded in frog

Mary Shota has done it again. A year ago, the Kaneohe crafter was folding origami cranes from 1/4-inch squares of paper. Since then, her cranes have become collectibles as far away as Australia, Japan and Scotland.

By popular demand, she began making tiny good luck frogs (shown greatly enlarged), a more complex project which involves 35 folds to the crane's 22.

She will be showing her origami creations at craft fairs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 9 at Market City Shopping Center; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 16 at Moanalua Shopping Center; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 27 at Mililani Shopping Center.

The frogs sell for $18 in a miniature vial and the cranes sell for $10 and $13, depending on the size. Call 236-7025 for more details.
