


IRMGARD Farden Aluli will be the first living treasure to be inducted into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame. The other new inductees announced by Monsignor Charles Kekumano, hall president, are: R. Alex Anderson, Johnny Almeida, Bina Mossman and David Nape. They will be inducted at the hall's concert on March 26 next year at the Hawaii Theatre. The hall has added a Traditional Hawaiian Songs category. Songs selected by a panel, chaired by Kahauanu Lake, are "Hawaii Aloha" by the Rev. Lorenzo Lyons; "Ua a Like No a Like" by Alice Everett; "Kaulana Na Pua," by Ellen Prendergast; "Makalapua" by Konia and Eliza Holt, and "Nalii," by Samuel Kuahiwi ... Isle Hall of Fame
picks music greatsDANCING ON: Aug. 9 is a big day for Jeannette Paulson and Vilsoni Hereniko. They will marry at sunrise, and Hereniko's new play, "Fine Dancing," will be presented at sunset that evening before an invited audience on the beach at Magic Island Lagoon. Award-winning Maori actress Rena Owen will play Hina the moon goddess in the Polynesian play. The cast includes Don Nahaku, Tony Silva, Adela Chu and Tepa McMoore. The show plays at Magic Island starting Aug. 15. Dancing and parts of the play were presented at Tropics at the Hilton on Sunday. To top it off, the audience, including Marie Lord, Councilman Andy Mirikitani and the Hawaii Theatre's Sarah Richards, danced in a salsa line around the showroom ...

COAST GUARD Rear Admiral Thomas H. Collins is a nice guy. He let the Honolulu Committee of the Transpacific Yacht Club and Ermenegildo Zegna sponsor a party at his Diamond Head residence Sunday for Transpac '97. Many guests climbed the lighthouse stairs to get an even more sweeping view. "I think it's very appropriate to have it (the party) here," the admiral said. "The finish is here.
