Moving into Hawaiiana

After 16 years in real estate management and marketing, Phyllis Okada Kacher joins Hawaiiana Management Co. Ltd. to work on marketing and business development.

The company's management portfolio, valued at more than $5 billion, ranks in the top 50 in the nation.

For the past seven years she was vice president of marketing for the Oahu and Kauai real estate division of Amfac/JMB Hawaii. She also worked for Chaney, Brooks & Co. and Alpha Real Estate.

Kacher has been involved in industry education as head of the Hawaii chapter of the Community Associations Institute.

She also was president of the Waikele Community Association and currently is secretary and director of the Hawaii chapter, Institute of Real Estate Management.

Kacher earned a bachelor's degree in business administration/marketing at the University of Puget Sound in Washington.
