An art fund-raiser featuring top island artists will celebrate the 18th anniversary of TEMARI, Center for Asian and Pacific Arts from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ala Moana Park's McCoy Pavilion. Art for the Soul
Artists participating include Reiko Brandon, Yvonne Cheng, Marie Kodama, Esther Shimazu, Doug Young and Cora Yee. "Art & Soul" will include a marketplace, art auctions, a performance by magician Carlos da Silva II and music by Once in Awhile.

More than 4,000 hemp heads are expected to join in the merry making at the fifth annual Hawaii Hempfest Saturday at Waimanalo Polo Field. Activities include the Save The Planet Volleyball Series and several bands from Hawaii and Los Angeles such as Red Session, Chilum, Dread Ashanti, THC, Marty Dread, Homegrown and Ocean 11.
