A wider scope at Aston

Cathy Gleason moves up at Aston Hotels & Resorts to take charge of national sales.

She is responsible for dealing with travel agents and developing promotional themes.

"I am excited to be expanding my scope with Aston, especially at a time when the company is breaking into the international marketplace via new properties in Asia/Pacific," Gleason said.

Aston plans to open four new hotels and resorts in Australia, Bali, and the Philippines in the next year.

For the past 21/2 years, she has been sales manager for Aston's Waikiki operations. She joined Aston in 1995 after working for the Executive Centre Hotel in downtown Honolulu.

Gleason also worked six years for the Clement Tours and Travel agency in San Francisco and five years in sales for Aloha Airlines.
