NAGOYA, Japan -- The Nagoya Grand Sumo Tournament's last undefeated wrestler lost today, and ozeki Musashimaru suffered his second loss in the 5-day-old competition. Musashimaru
down againThe first loss by No. 5 maegashira Asahiyutaka left him tied at 4-1 with yokozunas Takanohana and Akebono and five other wrestlers in the 15-day tournament.
Ozeki Wakanohana (2-3) grabbed Asahiyutaka's belt and quickly twisted him down.
Takanohana held off winless No. 3 maegashira Higonoumi's arm throw attempt and toppled him with a countering arm throw.
Akebono, or Chad Rowan from Hawaii, forced out No. 1 maegashira Musoyama (2-3), who charged him with a series of arm throw attempts.
No. 4 maegashira Kotonowaka quickly slapped down Musashimaru (3-2), or Fiamalu Penitani of Hawaii, who dashed into him head-first. Kotonowaka is among the wrestlers tied for the lead at 4-1.
Ozeki Takanonami (3-2) lifted No. 4 maegashira Dejima (2-3) to the ring's edge and forced him out.
No. 9 maegashira Konishiki, or Salevaa Fuauli Atisanoe from Hawaii, charged No. 7 maegashira Asanosho with hand thrusts and bulldozed him out for his second victory against three defeats. Asanosho is 1-4.
No. 15 maegashira Yamato, or George Kalima of Hawaii (2-3), charged No. 10 maegashira Mitoizumi (3-2) with hand thrusts and pushed him out.
