
Fourth of July means fireworks, picnics and parades. If you're headed for the Ala Moana Center's fireworks show, be warned: Parking and traffic near the center and Ala Moana beach may get a little hairy. Here's what's going on this long Independence Day weekend: Fireworks and more,

Ala Moana Center: 6 p.m. Friday, Ewa parking deck, entertainment by Robi Kahakalau, Kanilau, other local acts. "A Million Points of Light" fireworks over Magic Island, 8:30 p.m.
No parking allowed from 5-10 p.m. on Diamond Head side of Keeaumoku Street, from King Street to Kapiolani; Kapiolani between Kalakaua and Ward; Atkinson Drive; Ward Avenue between King and Ala Moana; Ala Moana in front of park.
Ala Moana Beach Park road will have reduced street parking until 3 p.m.; center's Keeaumoku Street and Piikoi Street ramps will be closed to incoming traffic when center parking is filled (about 7 p.m.).

Ala Moana/Magic Island: City's "Family Day Picnic," 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, McCoy Pavilion. Children's games, watermelon-eating contest, volleyball, entertainment, including Na Leo Pilimehana, 1:15 p.m. Park road will have reduced street parking until 3 p.m.
Fort DeRussy Beach: Thunderbirds aerial demonstration, 2-2:40 p.m. Friday. Information, 449-2490.
