Beer Tasting: Hawaii Public Radio's Seventh Annual International Beer Tasting, 5:30-8 p.m. June 26, Ward Centre, Diamond Head end of Auahi Street. Sample over 100 different brews from all around the world. Local beers include brews made by Alii Brewing Co., Mehana Brewing Co. and Gordon Biersch. Pupus available at $2 a serving. They include items from Bernard's New York Deli, Hooters and the Old Spaghetti Factory. Non-alcoholic beverages and sparkling waters will also be served. Tickets: $15 advance; $20 at-the-door. "Taste of Honolulu": Enjoy scrumptious morsels from island eateries, 5-10 p.m. June 27, noon-10 p.m. June 28, and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. June 29, on the civic center grounds near Honolulu Hale. Proceeds benefit Easter Seals.

"Hawaii's Women of Fashion": Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu's annual holoku ball to raise funds for scholarship programs, 5:30 p.m. June 28, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Coral Ballrooms. Agenda includes a fashion show, holoku parade, silent auction and Hawaiian cuisine. Cost: $70; special corporate tables available. Wahine Surfing Classic: China Uemura produces this first annual classic benefiting the Kapiolani Hospital's Sex Abuse Treatment Center, June 28-29, Queens surfing site in Waikiki. Seven age categories: Pee Wees (6 and below); Junior Pee Wees (7-10); Menehunes (11-13); Junior girls (14-17); adult (22-29); senior women (30-49); and Grand Masters (50 plus). Paid in advance entry fee: $25, includes a t-shirt. On-site entry fee: $75. Limited to 200 entries. Live entertainment. Information: 845-4244.

"Relay for Life": Ten-member teams needed for the HMSA-sponsored benefit for the American Cancer Society. Teams will take turns walking, running, dancing (or any other forward motion) around a track to collect a minimum goal of $1,000 per team. Entertainment includes Nohelani Cypriano and her mother Leina'ala Simerson, Nalani Olds, Jesse Rivera, "TSB," Down South Connection and performers from "Legends in Concert." There also will be free health screenings, free on-site testings for cholesterol, diabetes and body fat percentages, visits by McGruff and magician Alan Arita, children's games, craft booths, bingo, line dancing, hula aerobics, door prizes and snacks. Roberts Hawaii will provide free shuttle transportation to and from several satellite parking lots to and from Kapiolani Park. From 7 p.m. June 28 to 7 a.m. June 29, Kapiolani Park. Kapolei Park will also have a relay with additional activities, at the same time.

Joffrey Ballet: Champagne reception with an opening performance by the Joffrey Ballet, 6 p.m. July 2, Blaisdell Concert Hall. The ballet begins at 7:30 p.m. Cost: $100. Proceeds benefit Hawaii Public Television. Tickets available at 973-1995 or 973-1993. Call between 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

"Patriots Celebration": Sen. Daniel K. Inouye leads a non-military celebration honoring the 100/442nd Regimental Combat Team, July 2, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Coral Ballroom. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7:30 p.m. Entertainment includes Na Leo Pilimehana, Palani Vaughn and the U.S. Army Band. Tickets: $100 per person or $1,500-$5,000 per table. Kailua's annual 5K Fun Run: 7 a.m. July 4, around Enchanted Lake Park. Race numbers and packet pick-up, 5:30-6:30 a.m. July 4. Awards will be given to the first three males and females in the following divisions: elite, 11 and under, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70 plus, racewalk and wheelchair. Entrants will also have a chance to win a $500, $300 or $200 Windward Mall Shopping spree. Cost if registering by June 27: $18, ages 15 and older; and $14, ages 14 and under. A $10 late registration fee will be added for those registering after June 27. Proceeds benefit the Hale Ola Windward Abuse Shelter. Information: 263-5163.

"Royal Garden Cup Charity Golf Tournament": Third annual tournament by Nichiei U.S.A. Inc., noon July 14, Honolulu International Country Club. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Three-person, best-ball format. Prizes include a 1997 Buick Regal Gran Sport or $10,000 for hole-in-ones; and door prizes consisting of interisland trips and dining certificates. Prizes also given for the lowest team scores, closest-to-the pin and longest drive. Cost: $450 for a three-person team or $150 per person (includes green fees, tournament polo shirt, golf cap, sleeve of balls, tee marker, lunch and refreshments). Gold-hole sponsorships available for $800 each, which also includes a signage and acknowledgment in the tournament. Proceeds benefit National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii, Waikiki Improvement Association and Drub Abuse Resistance Education (DARE). Limited to first 144 golfers. Wahiawa Hospital Association golf tournament: Three-person teams. Cost: $125 per person (includes green fees, cart, refreshments and prizes). Prizes include $15,000 cash. "Journey to Samolo": Benefit for the Hawaiian Historical Society will feature wines by R. Field Wine Co. and Pacific Rim fare. A preview of auctioned items will be held from noon to 6 p.m. July 18 and 4 to 5 p.m. July 19 at the historic Girl Scout Hale in Nuuanu Valley. Silent auction will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. July 19, entertainment will follow from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and live auction 7 to 8 p.m. Proceeds benefit the outreach efforts of Girl Scouting in Hawaii. "Wok For the Cure": Receive a free first dinner course at eight participating restaurants when purchasing a "Wok for the Cure" card for $88. Proceeds benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation-Hawaii Chapter.
