Antero C. Ayala, 72, of Waipahu, died June 23 in Hale Nani Health Center. Born in Tamurong, Candon, Ilocos Sur, the Philippines, he is survived by sons Reynaldo S., Francisco S., Benito S. and Armando S.; daughters Flora A. Ea and Cecilia A. Balbas; sisters Conception Liza, Juanita Macasib and Leticia Ayala; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Wake: 7 p.m. tomorrow at Mililani Downtown Mortuary, 20 S. John “Johnson” Fernandez, 73, of Hawi, Kohala, Hawaii, a retired tractor operator with Kohala Sugar Plantation and retiree of Hawaii Foliage, died June 23 in North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Kona, he is survived by wife Nora; sons Robert, Harry, Jeffrey and Harold; daughters Elizabeth Kagimoto, Rosalia Steinhoff, Lattie Aumua and Lenora Oshita; brothers Alfred Fernandez and Joseph, Daniel and Julian Martinez; sisters Mary Figueroa, Patsy Torres, Angie Lawrence, Ida Alves and Ramona Madolu; 22 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Judy M. Fujisaki, 69, of Aiea, a caregiver and elderly intaker for Catholic Charities, died Thursday in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, she is survived by husband Yasuto; sons Alton, Jared and David; daughter Jill; brothers Sidney, Wayne and Roy Kurosawa; and sisters Alyce Steimling, Phyllis Komori, Barbara Fukumoko, Iris Kurosawa, Lorraine Nanbu and Jeanie Muranaka. Services: 7 p.m. tomorrow at Calvary Church of the Pacific, 99-400 Aiea Heights Drive. Inurnment: 11:30 a.m. Thursday at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Casual attire. Jack T. Honda, 87, of Lihue, a retired service station attendant at Garden Isle Motors, died Friday in Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born in Makaweli, Kauai, he is survived by daughter Patsy Matsuda; son Robert; and three grandchildren. Services: 4 p.m. tomorrow at Kapaa Jodo Mission. Call after 3 p.m.

Laura H. Kato, 50, of Lahaina, a retired schoolteacher at Waipahu Elementary School, died Sunday in Maui Memorial Hospital. Born in Lahaina, she is survived by husband the Rev. Nobuharu; mother Ritsuko Hirata; brothers Wayne A. and Neil H. Hirata; and sister Patricia Tamashiro. Wake over ashes: 3 p.m. tomorrow at Lahaina Hongwanji Mission.
