Dear old dad gets
respect on the Web

Father's Day is Sunday, so for last-minute gifts, advice and generally mulling over the condition of fatherhood, go to http://www.deardad.com/.

At this site, which keeps up with the seasons, you will get to hear some fathers giving you advice, including: "A little dirt never hurt anyone -- just wipe it off," and, "Who said life was supposed to be fair."

If you have a question or problem you would like a practical opinion on, write to "Dad Talk" at Clark@DearDad.com for an answer from a fellow who has been a father for 27 years, a son for 49.

If you want to let everyone on the Internet know how much you like Dad, go to http://www.holidays.net/father/ where there are stories to read, music to enjoy, puzzles to play and even pictures for the kids to color.

Finally there are some moving stories about fatherhood from the perspective of birth fathers and adoptive fathers at http://www.adopting.org/Fathers_Day.html#top.

"Home on the Web" is a weekly Friday feature of the Star-Bulletin.
