Nature rovers: Three- to 5-year-olds will wander through Makiki Valley discovering shapes, colors and textures. There also will be stories, songs and a nature craft. From 9:30-11 a.m. Cost: $7. Reservations required. Call 955-0100.

MONDAY

Cartooning: Dave Thorne creates humorous cartoons, 3 p.m., Mililani Public Library. Call 627-7470.

SPECIAL

"Family Discovery Club!": Visit Oahu's best educational attractions, 9:30-11 a.m. Saturdays, through Aug. 30. Cost: $165 per parent and child team. Register at the Contemporary Museum, 536-1322.

Reef explorers: Be a marine scientist, exploring shorelines, studying marine life and designing experiments, 8 a.m.-noon Mondays-Fridays, Aug. 18-22, Waikiki Aquarium. For children ages 8-12. Cost: $100.

Also, "Day Reef Walks" available: 8:30-11 a.m. June 21, and 8-10:30 a.m. July 5 and 20, and Aug. 17. For children 5 and over. Must provide own transportation to field sites. Cost: $8 adults, $7 children.

"Beginning Marine Aquarium Set-up": Three-session class showing the basics needed to set-up and maintain a tank. For children 12 and older, youngsters must be accompanied by an adult. From 6:30-8:30 p.m. June 24 and 26, and 9 a.m.-noon June 28, Waikiki Aquarium. Cost: $25 adult, $20 child. Register by mail. Call 923-9741.

Tropical plant nature walk: 10 a.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. Sundays at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden. Free. Call 233-7323 for reservations.
