Contests

"Love" poems wanted by Honolulu-area poets for a $1,000 grand prize. Poems must be written on love or have a love theme and be 21 lines or less. Over $3,000 in prizes. One poem per person. Pacific Islanders in Communication is looking for a published, fictional work by an indigenous Pacific Islander writer for adaptation to the screen. Works must be able to develop into a full-length 60-90 minute program, be relevant to the cultures of the Pacific, and have been published as a book or short story in a magazine or literary journal or have been produced as a stage play. Famous Poets Society is sponsoring a free poetry competition open to people living in the Honolulu area. Grand prize is $1,000. Prizes will be awarded on or before July 15, and a winner's list will be sent to everyone entering.
