It'll cost $100 a head, but you'll feast on a four-course dinner featuring local tomatoes and kalua pig; Puna goat cheese, citrus and green salad with Maui onion vinaigrette; crab-stuffed Big Island tenderloin; and tapioca with marinated Hawaiian fruits.
Chefs Roy Yamaguchi, Gordon Hopkins, Alan Wong, Peter Merriman and Philippe Padovanni will prepare the fare. Master Sommelier Chuck Furuya and Randy Caparoso will select the wines.

Scholarship: The Hawaii chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood is offering the Hawaii Cottey College Scholarship for female high school graduates.
Women wanting to attend the two-year college in Nevada, Mo., will get a scholarship of up to $5,000 if chosen.
To be eligible, candidates must show financial need, have personal recommendations, be involved in extra-curricular activities, and be an entering freshman.

Frightening figures from movies will appear on a set of 32-cent U.S. stamps in October as part of National Stamp Collecting Month. The monsters depicted are Dracula, the Mummy, the Phantom of the Opera, the Wolf Man. and the infamous Frankenstein Monster. The conference allows new and aspiring writers to meet and learn from today's stars in the field of literature, among them Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award winners, and dozens of best selling authors and screenwriters.
A primary attraction at the conference is the second annual Manuscript Marketplace, and for the first time, the Maui Writers Retreat.
The Manuscript Marketplace, open to the general public year round, allows attendees to showcase their works in progress to agents and editors. The deadline for submissions for the Manuscript Marketplace is July 1.
This year you may enter the Manuscript Marketplace even if you can't attend the conference.
Conference attendees pay $85 per manuscript resume; nonconference writers pay $159 per resume.
Maui Writers Retreat writers and producers will teach students in small gatherings in the six days preceding the conference. There will be morning workshops and meetings with leading agents, editors, and film executives, as well as afternoon mentoring sessions.
Instructors in this year's Maui Writers Retreat -- Aug. 23-28, $1,175 -- include Howard, Koepp, Stephen de Souza, ("Die Hard"), Randi Mayhem Singer (Mrs. Doubtfire"), Saul (The Blackstone Chronicles), Dan Millman (Way of the Peaceful Warrior), Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul), Terry Brooks (The Sword of Shannara), and Richard Rashke (The Killing.)
A $500 deposit is due with the application by July 1 with the balance payable by July 15.
