A consultant-based approach

F. Kevin Aucello is using his banking experience in Japan to start up CB Commercial's real estate & hospitality consulting group.

"CB has been transaction based, never consultant based," Aucello said. "But we want to establish longer-term relationships with clients." CB Commercial has an alliance with Ikoma Corp., a Japanese real estate company, to get clients.

Services will include feasibility studies, valuations, site selection and other studies.

Aucello came to Hawaii in 1995 and ran his own consultant company, Aucello & Co., for a year, working with Japanese companies. He has also worked for Long Term Credit Bank of Japan in Tokyo and for banks and investment banks in San Diego, Los Angeles, Dallas and Washington D.C.

Aucello earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's in real estate from the University of Florida.
