Engineering a Pacific focus

Rudy Mina will oversee civil engineering and general engineering design at M&E Pacific, where he has been promoted to vice president.

He specializes in land development, master planning, infrastructure, military, water resources, and toxic-waste projects.

"We're looking toward expansion in the Pacific Rim," Mina said. The company has done work for several years in Guam, Saipan, Japan, Korea and the Philippines.

Mina has more than 23 years of experience working with private companies, the Navy and the Army Corps of Engineers.

Mina earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Hawaii. He is a board member for the University of Hawaii Engineering Alumni Association.

M&E Pacific, one of the largest engineering firms in Hawaii, has been serving the state since 1959. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Metcalf & Eddy Inc.
