Promoting a new Sheraton Maui

Angela Kaufman has been promoted to marketing and sales director at the Sheraton Maui hotel, which reopened in April after $160 million in construction for 240 new rooms. The hotel now has 510 hotel rooms, she said.

"We call it 'Rebirth of a Legend' and it truly brings a sense of Hawaiiana," Kaufman said. The new design has open atriums and an art collection, she said.

Kaufman has 10 years experience in hotel sales. She came to the Sheraton Maui last year as director of group sales. Kaufman also was director of sales at the Kea Lani Hotel in Wailea, and Stouffer Waiohai, and sales manager at the Hyatt Regency Kauai and Hyatt Regency Atlanta.

Kaufman last year was president of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association, Maui chapter. She earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and chemistry at Emory University in Atlanta.
