Controlling the money in a fast industry

Kevin Kurihara takes over the financial leadership at TheoDavies Food Service Group which operates the 54 Pizza Hut and 26 Taco Bell outlets in Hawaii, Guam and Saipan.

"The fast-food industry is very quick paced and full of opportunities," Kurihara said. Still, the company is not planning any more expansion in the Pacific.

He joined the Food Service Group as controller in August 1996.

Kurihara also worked 12 years as a general manager in the accounting and audit department at Price Waterhouse LLP, in San Diego and Honolulu.

Kurihara earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and marketing from the University of Hawaii. He is vice president of the Honolulu Zoological Society and a member of Financial Executives Institute. Kurihara and his wife, Debbie, have two sons: Kyle, 3, and Justin, 1.
