Dorian ousted in round three

IKUMI BEACH, Japan - Hawaii surfer Shane Dorian, rated third in the world, lost to Australian rookie Michael Campbell, 25.50-19.25, in Round 3 of the ASP's Tokushima Pro yesterday.

Rochelle Ballard also was ousted in the third round in the women's division.

Three Hawaii surfers, Sunny Garcia, Ross Williams and Derek Ho, have yet to compete in Round 3.

DEGEN, MORENZ CITED: University of Hawaii freshman Dana Degen and junior Tia Morenz were named to the Louisville Slugger All West Region Softball Team yesterday.

Degen was a first-team pick as designated hitter while Morenz earned second-team honors as an outfielder.

TSUNAMI EXHIBITION: The Hawaii Tsunami professional soccer team will play an exhibition match against the Military All-Stars tomorrow at 6:15 p.m. at Ala Wai Field.

YOUTH BODYBOARDING: The Wall's Bodyboard Contest is tomorrow and Sunday starting at 8:30 a.m. for boys and girls in grade five through high school at the Kapahulu Groin at Kuhio Beach.
