Lydia K. “Crabbe” Akiona, 77, of Aiea died Tuesday at home. Born in Honolulu, she is survived by husband Noe; sons Noe N. and David; daughters Audrey Macadang, Noelani Wong, Karen Tam, Joanne Chun and Lydia Saragosa; sisters Myrtle Wong and Lillie K. Richard T. Aquino, 57, of Keaau, Hawaii, a mason, died Tuesday in Hilo Hospital. Mabel O. Char, 90, of Honolulu, a retired Kuakini Hospital registered nurse, died April 11 at Straub Hospital. Born in Kilauea, Kauai, she is survived by daughter Audrey A. Chan-Nui; son Allen L. Jr.; and two grandchildren. Private services.

Clara S. Kim, 76, of Honolulu, a homemaker, died last Saturday in Queen’s Hospital. Born in Puunene, Maui, she is survived by sons Melvin, Stanley, and Stephen “Sam”; daughter Carol Walker; brothers Sakae Kiyabu, Joe S. Bung Kwai “Father Kop” Kop, 86, of Honolulu, founder of the Hula Supply Center, died Tuesday. Born in Honolulu, he is survived by wife Hester; daughter Carol Sialana; sons Steven and Mike; sister Ada Kop Chun; brother Malcolm; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Moses Lee, 85, of Wahiawa, a U.S. Air Force retiree, died May 3 in the Hale Nani Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Lee provided the initial survival training for the first 12 NASA astronauts, served under Chiang Kai-Shek as a freedom fighter, and also served with the Korean Youth Freedom Fighters. Born in Spreckelsville, Maui, he is survived by wife Elaine S.C.; son Moses Jr.; daughters Melanie Aniya and Sandra L. Thompson; brothers Harry, Robert and Edward; sisters Jessie Street, Pauline Chapman and Jane Tarkington; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Nani A.H. Li, 72, of Honolulu, a retired registered nurse, died Monday in Straub Hospital. Born in Honolulu, she is survived by husband Dr. Gail G.L.; daughters Drs. Gaylyn and Sheryl Li, Pamela Hinsdale, Cindy Taga and Kathryn Mau; mother Rose Au Hoy; brothers Henry and Dennis Au Hoy; sisters Margaret Whang, Ethel Lum and Barbara Mau; and 10 grandchildren. Kaohu Sproat, 38, of Kamuela, Hawaii, president of Imua Air and a Hawaii Army National Guard member, will be remembered in services Monday and next Friday. Sproat died Sunday in Honolulu from injuries suffered in a helicopter crash.
