Quilt Hawaii '97: Quilt show and competition, July 10-13, Royal Waikoloan Resort on the Big Island. Contest categories include: Machine Pieced and Quilted sponsored by Viking/Husqvarna (prize-Viking sewing machine); Embellished, quilts and clothing embellished with silk ribbon and/or beading, sponsored by Quilters' Resource Inc. (prize-$250 package of French ribbon); Inked Label sponsored by Sakura of America/Pigma Pens (prize-$200 package of Pigma products); and Theme Quilts, quilts with interpretations of the Big Island's beauty, sponsored by Kona Bay Fabrics (prize-$100).
