


Michael Caine takes a rare TV role in ABC's two-part miniseries, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," which airs at 8 p.m. Sunday on KITV. Part 2 will be broadcast at the same time Monday. Time to visit the deepest
depths of the seaThe adaptation of the Jules Verne novel involves the rescue of three men from a warship who are held hostage by Captain Nemo (Caine) on an amazing submarine. Although mostly true to the sci-fi novel, the plot is modernized somewhat and adds female characters for equal opportunity.
The miniseries also stars Mia Sara, Patrick Demsey and Brian Brown.
Darren Benitez, Ho'okena, Kapena, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and emcee Frank B. Shaner will perform at the "Hawaiian Jam," Saturday, 5 to 9 p.m. at Mililani High School Stadium. All jammed up

Hawaii Pet Expo '97, designed to educate pet owners about their animals, takes place Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. Pets are welcome at this event
Exhibitors will include fancier clubs, obedience trainers, the Hawaiian Humane Society, pet product distributors and educational displays. There also will be live animal demonstrations and the Hawaiian Kennel Club Puppy Match.
Admission is free; pets are welcome (dogs should be leashed).
