Weekend fishing: Department of Land and Natural Resources accepting applications for a Freshwater Game Fishing License and Entry Fishing Card that can be used for weekend fishing at the Nuuanu Reservoir No. 4. Beginning May 31, fishing will be allowed every Saturday and Sunday with the day being divided into two four-hour fishing periods (7 to 11 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.). Applications can be picked up at the DLNR One-Stop Shop, 1151 Punchbowl St., Room 131, and from various license agents. All applications must be returned by 4 p.m. May 2. A drawing will then be held to assign each cardholder's fishing date and time. Information at 587-0100.

Computer demonstration: "Future Kids" of Kahala demonstration, 3 p.m. May 3, Barnes and Noble. Call 737-3323.

Penguin classes: Part of Sea Life Park's keiki and adult exploration, 9 to 11 a.m. May 3. An adult and child, 4-5 years-old, will learn how penguins fly, listen to stories and make crafts. Cost: $15 per parent-child team. Register at 259-6476.

Photographing nature: Steve Kastner gives new tips and techniques, 8 to 10:30 a.m. May 3, Hawaii Nature Center. Cost: $7. Reservations required. Call 955-0100.

Family Fishing Days: Catch and release tilapia at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 3-4. Admission is free. Bring bamboo poles with barbless hooks, bait, walking shoes, bug repellent, rain gear and a picnic. Parking is available at the Visitor Center, 45-680 Luluku Road in Kaneohe.
