"We're actively planning for our first major expansion and the financing for that expansion," Fusato said. The site will be 10 acres of C. Brewer land in Kau.
He formerly was vice president for finance at VeriFone Inc., the high-tech company being sold to Hewlett Packard Co.
He also has worked for KPMG Peat Marwick, Ernst & Young, and RESCO Inc., and its principal subsidiary, Prudential Locations Inc. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii.
Aquasearch develops natural products from microalgae at its Keahole Point plant. These include medical diagnostic products, pharmaceuticals, animal and human nutrition, food colorings, cosmetics, research grade chemicals, pigments and dyes.
