CRAFTS

Quilt Hawaii '97: Quilt show and competition, July 10-13, Royal Waikoloan Resort on the Big Island. Contest categories include: Machine Pieced and Quilted sponsored by Viking/Husqvarna (prize-Viking sewing machine); Embellished, quilts and clothing embellished with silk ribbon and/or beading, sponsored by Quilters' Resource Inc. (prize-$250 package of French ribbon); Inked Label sponsored by Sakura of America/Pigma Pens (prize-$200 package of Pigma products); and Theme Quilts, quilts with interpretations of the Big Island's beauty, sponsored by Kona Bay Fabrics (prize-$100). Cash prizes will also be awarded to the top three "Viewers' Choice" quilts.

Quilters who wish not to enter the competition but still would like to have their quilt on display, may enter their quilt in the "show" category.
