"We're looking forward to bringing the quality and service of Starbucks to Hawaii and also happy to be bringing jobs for Hawaii," Jamora said.
The first Starbucks store opened at the Kahala Mall. Stores will open in the Maui Marketplace in late May and at Ward Village in July. A typical store employs 25 to 30 people, he said. The company also has a Frappuccino bottled cold coffee drink available in stores and markets.
Jamora is former controller of Pacific Video Entertainment Corp., a partner of Blockbuster Video-Hawaii. He also was president and owner of Plus Computer One, an accounting and tax services company. He earned a bachelor's degree in management and accounting at the University of Hawaii.
