


Bishop Museum celebrates all the good things about Hawaii -- hula, lei-making, weaving, lomilomi, slack key guitar, ukulele, basketry, feather work, music and, of course, the plate lunch -- at its Family Festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Bishop Museum
welcomes familiesThere will be behind-the-scenes museum tours, including a rare opportunity to see the giant shark Megamouth and the personal treasurers of Hawaii's alii. Queen Liliuokalani's restored royal carriage, Princess Pauahi's diary, journals and jewelry and the royal gowns of Liliuokalani and Princess Kaiulani will be displayed.
There also will be a raffle of a private sail aboard the Hokule'a, the Hawaiian voyaging canoe.

Farrington High School presents "Ka Hoku Ao Malamalama Hula Festival and Craft Fair" Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. at the school amphitheater. High school hula fair
Entertainment will be by Na Opio O Ko'olau Kealakapawa, Kawaili'ula, Na Pua Lei O Ko'olau Kealakapawa, and the Kamehameha Schools Concert Glee, among others.

The Thai Songkran Festival, celebrating the Thai new year, takes place 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Kapiolani Park bandstand. Ring in the new, Thai style
The festival will feature games, music, dancing, a beauty contest, kick boxing and food demonstrations. More than 15 restaurants will provide hot and spicy dishes for sale.
