"Swamp Romp": The marines and sailors of Combat Services Support Group challenge businesses, organizations and other military bases in a five-mile run and obstacle course, 7:30 a.m. April 26, Kaneohe Marine Corps Base. Cost: $72-$90 per team if registering by April 18. Teams registering after April 18 will be charged an additional $15. All competitors will receive a T-shirt. Competitors must wear utility/long trousers or sweat pants and some type of boots. No spandex or tennis/running shoes allowed. Awards will be given. Pick up packets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 23-25. "Art of Taiko": Kenny Endo demonstrates, 9 a.m. April 19, Aina Haina Public Library. Call 373-4898.

Hanauma Bay: Jean Carr will explain the geology and history of the bay and Jack Oerlein will share legends of the sea during Hawaii Audobon Society's walking tour, 9 a.m. April 19. Mother Goose: Le Jardin Academy hosts Mother Goose and Brothers Grimm Games Day, 9 to 11 a.m. April 18. Games will be based on fairy tales, including "Three Little Kittens," "Jack and the Beanstalk," "Old Mother Hubbard," "Humpty Dumpty," "Little Bo Peep" and "Jack Be Nimble." Refreshments. Lyon Arboretum hike: Ka'ena Point nature walk, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 19. Meet at 9:30 a.m. by the restrooms on Yokohama Beach on Oahu's west coast. Intermediate hikers. Bring binoculars, lunch, water, sun screen and good walking shoes. Costs $12. Register at 988-7378.

Hawaii Nature Center: Dr. Mark Merlin, author of Hawaiian Forest Plants, will lead a moderate, 3-mile hike, April 19. Cost: $7. Reservations required. Call 955-0100.

East Makapu'u hike, April 20. This moderate, 4-mile hike is only for people 12-years and older. Cost: $7. Reservations required. Call 955-0100.

Uncle Norman Ching teaches the art of palm frond basket weaving, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 20. Cost: $7. Reservations required. Call 955-0100.

Taiko Center of the Pacific: Taiko classes begin April 20. Classes consist of three to seven week sessions. Register at 734-9211.

Sierra Club: Earth Day stream clean up and storm drain stenciling, 9 a.m. April 20. Meet in the parking lot at 47-528 Kam Highway, next to the Hygenic Store. Wear sturdy shoes with gripping soles and work clothes. Bring a hat, water, sunscreen and raingear. Information at 538-6616.

"Our Bodies Don't Lie": Professional Women's Network luncheon, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 21, Hale Koa Hotel, DeRussy Hall, second floor. Guest speaker is Nancy Link. Cost: $20. Reservations at 533-4800 before noon, April 18.

Lei contest: Market City Shopping Center's Seniors' lei contest, April 26. Leis made by people ages 50 and over will be on display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for public judging. Prizes awarded to top three leis. Leis may be made with any type of flowers. Contestants must drop off leis by 9:45 a.m. in the lobby next to Blockbuster and Burger King.
