Two days to go 'til baseball!

The big hit of the
weekend is baseball

The best hot dog in the world is the one you're eating while watching a real live baseball game.

You can test this when "The Show" comes to the islands this weekend as the San Diego Padres play the St. Louis Cardinals at Aloha Stadium.

Saturday features a double-header starting at 4:05 p.m. The stadium parking lot and box office open at noon, gates at 1 p.m. Game time Sunday is at 4:05 p.m. with the parking and box office opening at 10 a.m., gates at 11 a.m.

As of yesterday, only $8 and $10 tickets were available for Saturday and $35, (loges) $10 and $8 for Sunday. Play ball! Information: 486-9300.

Iolani invites the planet

Iolani School is the scene this weekend for its annual family fair, "Planet Iolani Island Style," from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday.

Entertainers will include Frank DeLima, Brother Noland and Ho'okena, Herb Ohta and O'Brien Eselu. There also will be cooking demonstrations, a clothing boutique, plant sale, silent auction, white elephant sale, contests and, of course, food, food, food.

Brown bag-it

There will be lots of music, dancing and comedy at Brown Bags to Stardom Saturday from 4 p.m. at Waikiki Shell with 35 student acts vying for top prizes in the annual high school talent competition.

Advance tickets for the event, sponsored by I-94 FM radio station, are $17.50 for reserved seats, $14.50 for lawn; $18.50 and $15.50 at the door. They are available at Blaisdell box office, Connection outlets and by phone at 545-4000. Information: 531-4602.
