Atlantic king salmon continues to swim into isle stores at best buy prices of $3.99 to $4.99 a pound at Foodland, Star and Daiei. Other best buys include asparagus for $1.47 to $1.89 a pound at Sack N Save, Foodland and IGH (Independent Grocers of Hawaii), and red delicious apples for 68 cents at Daiei and, at Foodland, 48 cents for Maika'i Club members or 79 cents for others. Lime Marinated Grilled Salmon (From Michelle Hancock, Fort Worth Star-Telegram) 2 pounds salmon fillet, cut in 4- to 5-ounce portionsMarinate fillets 1 hour. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, remove from marinade and grill to desired doneness. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
Marinade:
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon honey
2 cups coarsely chopped onion
1-1/2 teaspoons chopped garlic
1 bunch cilantro, coarsely chopped
2 large fresh jalapenos, chopped
1/2 teaspoon red chile powder
1 teaspoon salt
