BUYOUT BID FOR GREAT ALOHARUN: A proposal by the Honolulu Marathon to buy out the Great Aloha Run will be submitted to the GAR board of directors next week.
Honolulu city council member Rene Mansho, who is chairman of the race's board, said she spoke with Honolulu Marathon Association president Jim Barahal on Friday.
"He's going to put his proposal in writing and we'll give it consideration," said Mansho.
Barahal said he expects to have something in writing for Mansho and Carole Kai Onouye, president of Carole Kai Charities Inc., possibly by early next week.
