Hawaii jump team second

HUA-HIN, Thailand -- A Hawaii team was runner-up in the relative work (making formations in free fall) division of the 26th Thailand Parachute Championships held March 13-22.

The team consisted of Clint Clawson, Richard Doppelmayer, Clarence Lopez and Charlie Hall, all Sky Dive Hawaii instructors.

The division winner was the Royal Thai Police team.

"This is the largest meet in Asia with international judges. It's a test of the sky-diving ability in Hawaii," said Frank Hinshaw, the jumpers boss at Sky Dive Hawaii.

PADRES TICKET SALES: There have been 20,884 tickets purchased for the doubleheader on April 19 at Aloha Stadium between the San Diego Padres and St. Louis Cardinals, according to stadium spokesman Les Keiter.

For the single game April 20, 17,202 seats have been bought.

WATER POLO TOURNAMENT: The first Rainbow Wahine Water Polo tournament starts tomorrow at UH's Duke Kahanamoku Pool.

Four matches starting at 8 a.m. and three more beginning at 5 p.m. are scheduled each day through Saturday.
