AGRICULTURE

STATE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, 1428 S. King St. Meeting to refer aquaculture loans to Hawaii Production Group, approve a participation loan and a direct loan to AGRO Hawaii, Inc., hear requests to adjust Waiamanalo, Waimea and Molokai irrigation systems rates and charges and certify their acreage assessments, and amend awarding approval to conduct a drawing for awarding Kahuku Agricultural Park leases. The following will be presented for approval for funding: remote detection of papaya ringspot virus infection with a multi-spectral sensor; development of onion disease control strategies for pink root and basal plate rot; cucumber and bean variety trials; evaluate mild dry onion cultivars for disease resistance to pink root and fusarium basal plate rot; mechanized pruning for sustainable mechanized coffee production; new potted anthurium development; role of calcium and nitrogen for progression of bacterial blight in potted anthuriums; media and nutrition for potted anthuriums; hot water for control of nematodes in potted foliage plants; transformation and development of Hawaii's agriculture; and fruit fly post-harvest treatment and research.



ENVIRONMENT

U.S. AIR FORCE: 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Hawaii Maritime Center, Pier 7, Honolulu Harbor. Discussion of draft plan to consolidate soils which were subjected to spills at the Herbicide Orange Storage Site on Johnston Island into the fenced area of the site. Copies of the draft can be reviewed at U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Pacific Island Contact Office, 300 Ala Moana, or main State Public Library, Hawaii Section.



FINANCE

CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU: 10 a.m. next Monday, Department of Housing and Community Development Conference Room, 5th floor, 650 S. King St. Hearing regarding proposal to issue multi-family housing bonds for the purpose of providing funds to finance mortgage loans for multi-family rental housing developments for persons and families of low and moderate income.
