








ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The University of Hawaii women's golf team had a 54-hole total of 956 to finish sixth in the University of New Mexico Spring Intercollegiate tournament yesterday. Wahine golfers finish sixth
The host Lobos won with an 883 score, 59 strokes ahead of runner-up Northern Arizona.
J.J. McCormick led a sweep of the first four places for New Mexico with a 4-under-par 215.
Dawn Kaneshiro topped the Wahine with a 233.
WAHINE SPLIT: At Fullerton, Calif., 11th-ranked Oklahoma State scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to edge the University of Hawaii, 4-3, in the Pony Softball Tournament opening game for the teams yesterday.
The Wahine cut the deficit to one run in the bottom of the seventh, but the rally fell short.
Hawaii (23-13-1) came back to defeat unranked Ohio State, 8-0, later in the day on a four-hitter by Kelly Gentle.
Kehau Cofran was 3-for-4 in both games and totaled five RBIs.
