Campus Center Ballroom performances: Traditional and modern hula with Melvin Kahokuloa Lantaka and students, 6 to 8 p.m. March 13; and ballroom and Latin dancing with Marilyn Gomez and students, 6 to 7 p.m. March 14. Cost: $1 general public, free for UHM students, faculty and staff.

Oli Concert: Coordinated by the Beamer family, the concert will teach the origins and types of chants, 7:30 p.m. March 14, Kilauea Theater. Cost: $10 general, and $8 Volcano Art Center members. Register at 967-8222.

Easter Store: Opening of the Kalanianaole Arts League's store featuring over 50 local artists and crafters, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 14 to 29, Koko Marina Shopping Center. Portion of the proceeds will be donated to a charity.

Wahiawa Hills hike: Challenging 5-mile hike, March 15, Hawai'i Nature Center. Approximately six hours. Cost: $5 Hawai'i Nature Center members; and $7 nonmembers. Reservations at 955-0100.

"Great Guns": 41st semi-annual gun show, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 15, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 16, Neal Blaisdell Center. Sponsored by the Hawaii Historic Arms Association. Admission: $3.50. Call 396-8547.

Waimano Pool hike: 9 a.m. March 15, Waimano Pool. Three-mile, novice hike in the Pacific Palisades valley with a nice little pool with rocky cliffs to jump from. Bring lunch and water, and wear sturdy shoes and clothing. Sponsored by the Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club Inc. A donation of $2 requested for nonmembers.

Zoo by Moonlight: Tour the Honolulu Zoo by the light of the full moon, 7 to 9 p.m. March 21 through 24. Costs $7 adults, $5 children. Purchase tickets in advance at cashier's office.

Fishing Tournament: Entries for the Sixth Annual Ulua Fishing Tournament sponsored by Kimura of Hawaii will be accepted until March 29. The tournament will be held from noon April 4 to noon April 6. Proceeds will go to the Catholic Charities' community services and programs. Prizes range from $200 to $1,000 provided there are 100 entries. Cost: $45 adults, $5 children. Call 537-6321.

Free hike to Diamond Head: Meet the Clean Air Team at the Honolulu Zoo entrance, 9 a.m. Saturdays. Three miles to the top. Call 948-3299.

Honolulu Zoo: Zoo opens at 8 a.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. General admission $6; $2 with Yum Yum Tree senior card. First Wednesdays feature a botanical tour at 8:45 a.m. for $2 more. Third Wednesdays, Tai Chi practice begins 8 a.m. Call 971-7174.

Nature Conservancy hikes: Two guided hikes a month to Honouliuli Preserve, home to more than 45 rare native plants and animals. Donation. Call 537-4508.
