Taking Hattie to Ala Moana

Dean Iverson, a 20-year veteran of retailing, is excited at the changes coming to the Hilo Hattie operations. Hilo Hattie opens a new store at Ala Moana Center in June, taking the space formerly used by Hopaco Stationers.

"My job will focus on new markets and new products," Iverson said. "There's going to be surprises."

Iverson worked more than 20 years at Liberty House. He most recently was general manager of the Ala Moana store. Iverson also has managerial roles in the home furnishings division, Penthouse, men's department and as director of neighbor island stores.

Iverson earned a bachelor's degree in speech, with a minor in business administration, at the University of Washington.

Hilo Hattie manufactures and sells more than 750,000 pieces of resort apparel and gift products a year.
