4-Man volleyball
at Queen's Beach

The Hawaii Beach Volleyball 4-Man Championships will be held Sunday at Queen's Surf Beach in Waikiki, with pool play starting at 9:30 a.m. and the semifinals and finals at about 2 p.m.

Expected to compete for the women's title are recent UHWahine players RobynAh Mow, Angelica Ljungquist, Joselyn Robins, Chastity Nobriga and Nalani Yamashita.

The men's side will have Eric Pichel, Pono Maa, Masui Allen and Allen Allen

WAHINESEVENTH

Hawaii finished seventh in the Bay Area Classic college women's golf tournament yesterday in Vallejo, Calif.

Dawn Kaneshiro led the Wahine with a two-round score of 14-over-par 158, good for fifth place overall.

NorthernArizona took the team title at 646, Hawaii was at 674. Louise Davis of NorthernArizona won the individual title with a 155.

HAWAIIBOXINGTEAM

The 11-member Hawaii team that will compete in the 1997 United States Amateur Boxing Championships, March 7-15 in ColoradoSprings, Colo., has been chosen.

The roster includes:Mike Keopuhiwa (106 pounds)of Waianae Boxing Club; Jeral Ancheta (119), Hilo B.C.; Kenneth Davis (139), Palolo B.C.; Jason Tomlin (147), Hawaii B.C.; Cheyenne Padeken (156), Waianae B.C.; Michael Laureano (165), East Maui B.C.; Jason Soter (178), Kalakaua B.C.; Wayne Cambra (200), Kakaako B.C., and Michael Maae (201-plus), Kakaako B.C.

SWIMRECORDS

University of Hawaii swimmers Becky Thompson and Heidi Hausknecht broke four school records at the WesternAthletic Conference Championships last weekend in San Antonio, Texas.

Thompson broke the 100- and 200-freestyle marks with times of 50.84 seconds and 1:50.08, respectively. Hausknecht set records in the 100 butterfly (55.34) and 100 backstroke (57.28).

SAILORSFIFTH

The University of Hawaii sailing team finished fifth in the Stanford Team Race Intersectional at PaloAlto, Calif., yesterday.

The Rainbows had an overall record of 10-8 in the regatta.

Stanford was first with a mark of 17-4.
