Tonight and tomorrow, cloudy periods and scattered showers. Trades 15-30 mph.

Big Island

Windward Kohala, Hamakua, Hilo and Puna: Passing showers and cloudy periods.

Leeward Kohala, Kona and Kau: Tonight, showers ending in the evening. Tomorrow, mostly cloudy with locally heavy showers in the afternoon. Trades 15-30 mph. Winds variable 5 to 15 mph in Kona and Hilo.

Marine advisories

A high far north moving east at 20 knots. Small craft advisories remain in effect for all Hawaiian waters due to strong and gusty trade winds.

Coastal waters: East winds 20 to 25 knots, seas 8 to 12 feet. Scattered showers tonight and tomorrow.

Channels between the islands: East winds 25 to 30 knots, seas 12 to 18 feet tonight and tomorrow.

Volcano

Molten lava can still be seen more than 600 feet deep inside Puu Oo cinder cone, and instruments show fresh magma very slowly entering the Kilauea volcano system.
