Learning disabilities conference: Sally L. Smith and Richard Lederer will be the guest speakers at the fourth annual conference, Friday and Saturday at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.
Smith is the founder and director of the Lab School of Washington, author of eight books on learning disabilities and recipient of the 1993 Learning Disabilities Association Award. Lederer, a teacher at St. Paul's School, has several best-selling books and can be heard on National Public Radio.
The conference theme is "Building on Strengths and Unlocking Creativity." Local teachers, doctors and parents will discuss study and social skills and other topics.
