I ordered tickets for the May 3 Gloria Estefan concert in early February by credit card and assumed that I would receive the tickets a few days later. Estefan tickets set to be
mailed in early MarchWell, it's been a week and I haven't received my tickets yet. I called the Aloha Stadium box office and they told me it would take about four weeks because they need to make sure the check or credit card is good. When I go to a store, it usually takes about one minute for authorization, so why does it take the stadium four weeks? I paid with a charge card because I thought it would be quicker to verify. What's the scoop?
No matter how you paid, you would not have gotten the tickets any sooner. In fact, tickets are not scheduled to be mailed until the first or second week of March, said Ainsley Paki, stadium box office manager.
It's not just a matter of verification, Paki said.
First of all, the promoter selected checks, money orders and credit cards as payment methods for the concert. "It's hard for us, when we receive 2,000 pieces of mail in one day, to weed out credit cards versus money orders or checks," Paki said. "We prefer to fill out the orders all at once," then do the verification, then mail everything en masse.
Normally, for any mail order, it takes an average of four to six weeks to process, Paki noted.
"Even for the Pro Bowl, because we have so many orders, we mail everything out at once."
