Star offers a pound of strawberries for $2.49, and Red Flame seedless grapes at 99 cents a pound. Red Flame or Thompson seedless grapes are also $1.29 per pound at Foodland. Thread either grape on skewers for the following Shish Kebab recipe:
3 tablespoons lemon juice Grilled Grape Kebabs
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/4 cup pureed seedless grapes
1 cup seedless grapes
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed
1/2 teaspoon EACH grated lemon peel, pepper and salt
12 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut in 1-inch cubes
1 large green pepper, cut in 1-inch squaresCombine lemon juice, oil, pureed grapes, oregano, lemon peel, salt and pepper. Pour marinade over chicken; mix and refrigerate 1 hour.
On 8 bamboo skewers which have been soaked in water overnight to prevent scorching, thread grapes, marinated chicken and green pepper. Grill or broil 10 to 12 minutes, turning one-quarter every 2 or 3 minutes or until juices run clear on chicken. Makes 4 2-skewer servings.
Serve with rice or couscous.
