Exporting resort accounting skill

Ollin "Bubba" Cook Jr. takes over as a director in the vacation ownership resort operations practice at KPMG Peat Marwick.

"We're marketing our experience to vacation areas like Orlando, Fla., South Carolina, California and Las Vegas," said Cook.

KPMG has seven directors in Hawaii. The accounting and consulting firm sees an increasing need for help in auditing and operations of timeshare apartments.

Cook was chief financial officer for nearly two years at Imperial Hawaii Resorts, one of the largest vacation ownership resorts in Hawaii.

He developed business plans and assisted efforts to get financing for projects in Hawaii, the Marshall Islands and on the mainland. He also worked 11 years for Price Waterhouse LLP.

Cook earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from Delta State University in Cleveland, Miss.
