Malbeck
lifts HawaiiPacific

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Hawaii Pacific center Jurgen Malbeck hit on 14 of 15 shots from the field and scored 30 points to lead the Sea Warriors (21-2) to a 79-77 victory over Central Washington (12-11) last night.

HPU, which trailed, 40-37, at the half, took the lead for good on a pair of free throws by Robert Parker with 9:41 left in the game, but never led by more than six points.

The Wildcats' Eric Davis had his 45-foot 3-point attempt hit the rim as time ran out.
