Koolau Loa Welcome

Above, Hokule'a and E'ala visited Kahana Bay yesterday as part of
the area's Hoopono Koolau Loa, a community education project for
Kaaawa, Kahana, Punaluu, Hauula, Laie, Kahuku,
Sunset Beach and Pupukea.

Members of Pakuialua perform a Hawaiian martial arts ritual.

Kaneala Lopez of Pakuialua was one of the ceremonial honor
guard that kept the kapu on Kahana Bay during the ceremony.

After disembarking from the Hokule'a, Hawaiians from
the ahupuaa of Koolau are greeted with chants yesterday.
