Big Island

High surf alert, north and west shores.

Windward Kohala, Hamakua, Hilo, Puna: Cloudy periods, brief showers tonight, tomorrow. Leeward Kohala, Kona, Kau: Clearing tonight; sunny tomorrow morning, partly cloudy afternoon with isolated upslope showers. Trades 10-25 mph except locally variable 5-15 mph in Hilo and Kona districts.

Marine advisories

A high surf advisory is in effect for the north and west shores of all the islands. Caution advised for marginal wind and sea conditions due to strengthening east winds.

Coastal waters: East winds 15-20 knots, seas 4-8 feet tonight, tomorrow. A few windward showers. Northwest swell near 6 feet. Channels: East winds 20-25 knots, seas 8-12 feet tonight and tomorrow. Northwest swell near 6 feet.
